Are you allowed to run SAP Logon, or just SAP Logon Pad? With SAP Logon (saplogon.exe) you can create a copy of your connection, but without SNC turned on.

BEx takes over the connection configuration from SAP Logon. So if you add or change a connection in SAP Logon, this will also affect BEx.
